It may not seem as if there are a lot of men’s fashion accessories out there, but in fact men make use of more accessories than they realize. An accessory is an item or piece of clothing that you don't need to wear, but it does accent your look and can even serve a purpose. So fashion accessories are even quite useful to a person in the course of day-to-day activities. There are all sorts of items that really are men’s fashion accessories.

Watches

The wristwatch is not as common as it once was, but for a short period of time every man had a wristwatch and every man's watch had a thick gold band or leather one. The men’s watch is still popular today and it comes in many forms to further prove its popularity and convenience.

Perhaps some of the most attractive men’s wristwatches of today are platinum or stainless steel. The industrial look is in with guys. This even applies to some other forms of jewelry that men typically wear.

Jewelry

A man does wear jewelry and jewelry can be common men’s fashion accessories. You'll see plenty of dudes wearing necklaces, rings and earrings. Though these high fashion items are often a little bit heavier and more bulky than similar women’s jewelry items.

As mentioned above, platinum and stainless steel are popular metals for men these days. You'll also see white gold, silver and even wood used in some mens jewelry. Simple chains are still the best choice for men’s necklaces. Earrings and rings can and are usually outrageous in design or simple and bold. There's plenty of room in men’s fashion for silly or unique statements.

Ties

The men’s tie is probably the iconic men’s fashion accessory. Its purpose has been lost to history, but the tie appears to have evolved from the tradition simple neck scarf. Now the tie is a fashion accessory must for dressy occasions and comes in all colors, patterns and sizes.

You'll want to pick out at least three ties for yourself. One is plain dark blue or black for serious occasions, one in a color that suits you or that you like for parties, and one is just plain silly for that drunken Christmas party every year. If you have trouble picking out the tie that suits you, try going for a color that matches your eyes, so you'll always be matched when wearing it.

Sunglasses

Another of the more commonly used men’s fashion accessories are sunglasses. There's a pair of glasses out there for every man. They come in so many different shades, shapes and styles these days it can be hard to choose though.

Typically men wear larger frames than women because it appears more masculine. This doesn't mean a guy has to wear gigantic aviators. Pick the frame that best suits your image or the image you want to project about yourself. Plastic frames are more eye-catching so you'll draw more attention. Metal frames are more refined and understated; they also appear to be a higher quality. Plastic frames also look more casual, unless you are going for the Men in Black look with solid black lenses.

There are always more men’s fashion accessories to learn about, but these are the basic four. A man with a good watch, ring, tie and sunglasses is well placed in the world.

Getting The Best Out Of Men’s Fashion

By Adriana N.

From ancient days when men had nothing but animal skins to cover themselves, to the outlandish dress of the royal courts a few centuries ago when men wore wigs, high heeled shoes and extravagant jewelry, there has been a radical shift. Happily modern clothing appears to have found a fine balance between self-expression and socially acceptable modes of dress when it comes to men’s fashion.

Previously only women had the freedom of changing their characters through their wardrobe. Times have changed and modern men can express their personality freely. There is a limitless array of looks to choose from. Whether you want to be a corporate shark in a sharp suit, rock god in skinny jeans and torn t-shirts or a shilled surfer in baggy shorts and flip flops your new personality change is only a wardrobe change away.

As with everything else in life there are rules, mostly for your own good so play close attention. The first rule is to avoid excess at all costs. Unless your name is Liberace there is no reason for any man to be decked out in mountains of jewelry. In this case less is definitely more. If you choose to wear accessories keep them discreet, tasteful and most importantly appropriate to the occasion.

The second tip is to be brutally honest about your body type and dress accordingly. Take a long look in the mirror; catalogue the good and the bed. Then dress to highlight your attributes and camouflage your flaws. Dressing well can hide a multitude of sins and boost confidence.

Invest on good quality well made clothes. It might cost a little bit more in the beginning but stocking up your wardrobe with classic timeless items will definitely be a good investment. Items that are worth splurging on include a good quality suit in a dark color, bespoke if you can, a classic trench coat in a tan color, a good wool coat for winter, several cashmere sweaters and as many crisp pure cotton shorts as you can avoid.

Once you have the basic elements of a good wardrobe in place then have fun by adding in a few elements that personalize the collections. These can be anything from your favorite pair of perfectly faded jeans to quirky t-shirts from your favorite concert. Look for key items that celebrate who you are and showcase your unique style. Mix and match these with your classic items to make you stand out from the crowd.

After overcoming these hurdles the most important skill that needs mastering is dressing for the occasion. Nothing is more awkward than standing out from a crowd for all the wrong reasons. Read the invite carefully and follow the instructions to the letter. If the instruction says black tie it requires a tuxedo. Buy or rent one but make sure it fits perfectly.

Other dress codes are slightly more ambiguous; many people are still confused by the term smart casual. When in doubt ask the host for some clarity. If this is not possible its always better to go the slightly more formal route. Being slightly over dressed for the occasion might possibly win a few admiring glances but being under dressing is a glaring faux pas.

Men’s Fashion Tips - What Men Should Consider For

Club Wear

By Natalie Sinclair

While it is a common notion that it is easier for a man to get dressed than it is for a woman, many men still commit classic mistakes in choosing proper club wear when they go out to party. More often than not, men who look funny and/or ridiculous are hardly aware of it and to be honest, it is best to get an opinion from a woman.

Here are some fashion tips that will help guide you in your wardrobe selection for that next hot night out! Well, here's the news, there are real and existing rules that apply to men when it comes to choosing the right clubwear to wear. Even if you are a fashion expert, I am certain you may be surprised by what I feel are the do's and don'ts to follow when selecting appropriate partying attire.

1) Never Overdress

In general, men should never go to a club overdressed except in the rare occasion that you are coming straight from work but then that's another problem to deal with. Remember this point, a club is a place for partying and neither formal nor business attire has a place here. Barney from the popular T.V. show "How I Met Your Mother" may make it seem that suits are cool to wear all the time including when you go out, but this works only in certain clubs, and those are the ones the really cool people are not in. Wearing a tie is acceptable only if it is a tie that is absolutely appropriate otherwise, it is never advisable to show up to a club in one. In my opinion it is still best to reserve the tie for work.

2) Men Should Never Wear Sunglasses In A Club

You may see rock stars and celebrities wearing sunglasses at night so you may think it is OK for you to do the same. Some celebrities may have a point when they state that they use them due to the many flashes from all the paparazzi but more than likely they are hiding the bags under their eyes from staying up too late. Although a pair of cool sunglasses may look good on you outside on a sunny day, they absolutely should never be worn in a club. The sun does not shine inside a club, and wearing shades while clubbing is absolutely not cool no matter what you think.

3) Men Should Never Wear Slacks And Should Always Wear Jeans

Despite what you may have heard, clubs don't discriminate on age, but they are always only for the young at heart. Slacks can easily make a man look old regardless of how good they look on him. When going to a club, it is always best to stick to jeans. This rule, however, is to mean only straight cut, blue or dark-colored denims. Whitewashed jeans can make a man look short, and colored jeans tend to look loud and detestable. Skinny jeans on men, especially the really tight ones that some men are wearing lately on the other hand, died with the king so once and for all, say goodbye to them.

4) Always Wear The Appropriate Shoes

Regardless of color, rubber shoes and sneakers are always inappropriate club wear. When going clubbing, a better footwear choice is either a pair of dress shoes or loafers. Sandals are great for the beach, but the club is not a beach and using socks will not improve the look. A man who can remember where he is will never commit the mistake of being a fashion nightmare, and remember women pay attention to shoes on a man regardless of what they say.

5) The Right Shirt

Most clubs will not allow t-shirts even if it cost you three or four hundred dollars. It is common knowledge that most hip clubs require their patrons to wear collared shirts before even considering allowing them in. If you insist on using one, when going to a club in a t-shirt, always remember to match it up with a sport coat or jacket. This easy look is great for all types of men regardless of height or build. A simple button-down shirt with sleeves rolled up just right below the elbow will always be a winner, though. This simple, classic look works for all ages at all times. It never gets outdated and will never be a mistake. A glittering shirt, however, should be worn only in the circus. Unless you form part of the lighting ensemble for the nightclub, your glittered shirt has no place there.
